Rest & Renew℠’s mission is to End the Stigma of mental health and Change the Conversation to Brain Health.

Mission

Why Rest & Renew℠?

Since COVID, more attention is being paid to mental illness. Yet, the conversation has not changed. Compared to treating physical illness, mental illness resources are less available, and in many circumstances more costly.

Rest & Renew℠ aims to End the Stigma and Change the Conversation associated with Mental Illness with a focus on Brain Health.
A multi-pronged approach is envisioned.

Rest & Renew Foundation

This organization is a 501c3 non-profit fund with the Mount Dora Community Trust.
The “Big Hairy Audacious Goal” is to create several Ranches starting in Lake County, Florida.
Click the Donate Now link at the top of the page to partner with us.

The Ranches will be faith based, and will provide whole person healing – biological, psychological, social and spiritual.
They will change the conversation: to “I’m going to the Ranch for R&R.” from “I’m going to a facility for treatment.”

Phase 1 Create Two Ranches

Ranch 1 – Intervention for Women Only
This ranch will provide intervention resources for those diagnosed with a mental condition.

Ranch 2 – focus on Prevention
This ranch will be a retreat for women, men, youth, married couples, bible studies and many more.

Both ranches will have access to equine facilities, gardens, swimming pool and much more.

Let’s focus on prevention, so that the need for intervention decreases.
As Mental Health America shares, let’s get help B4 Stage 4. When we think about cancer, heart disease, or diabetes, we don’t wait years to treat them. We start way before Stage 4. We begin with prevention.

Take a look at Honey Lake Clinic in North Florida. Imagine if we had something like this in Lake County, Florida.

The Meaning Behind the Words and Symbols

There are numerous biblical verses associated with the words “Rest & Renew.” Significant life verses include:

Isaiah 40:31 – But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Matthew 11:28 – Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Romans 12:2 – Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind..

Psalm 127:2 – It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives sleep to his beloved.

Green is the color representing Mental Health.

As a spring flower and the first to bloom, daffodils are symbols of rebirth and hope. They signify new life and resilience as they are strong little survivors who have weathered the winter storms.

Daffodils’ cheerful bright yellow and white colours are a symbol of positivity. They are a happy flower that signifies joy, and an appreciation for being alive.

Yellow is the color representing Suicide Prevention.
